What this site collects, and what happens to it.

What gets collected

If you send a note through the contact form, I receive what you put in it: your name, your email address, the name of your business if you gave it, and your message. That’s the list. There’s no account to create and nothing to sign up for.

Like every website, the servers that host this one keep ordinary technical logs, which include the IP address of the device you’re using and the pages requested. I don’t look at these and don’t use them to identify anyone.

What it’s used for

To reply to you. If we end up working together, to set up the day and the build. Nothing else. I don’t sell it, rent it, or hand it to anyone for marketing, and I don’t add you to a mailing list because you wrote to me.

Who else touches it

A handful of services run this site, and each one sees a piece. Netlify hosts the site and processes the contact form; submissions pass through Akismet for spam filtering on the way to my inbox. Google Fonts serves the two typefaces, which means your browser requests them from Google’s servers and Google sees your IP address in the process; no cookie is set. If you book a call, that happens on Calendly, on Calendly’s own site under its privacy notice; I receive the name, email and time you enter there. Each of these companies has its own privacy policy, and each is bound by its own terms not to use your information for anything beyond providing the service.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There is no advertising, no pixel, and nothing that follows you to other sites. Because I don’t track, the site doesn’t respond to Do Not Track signals; there’s nothing for them to switch off.

How long it’s kept

Form submissions sit in Netlify until I’ve replied and moved the conversation to email, then I clear them; I aim to do that within thirty days. Email I keep the way anyone keeps email. If you’d like your note and any reply deleted, say so and it’s done.

Seeing or changing what I have

Write to koelijah@koine.studio and I’ll tell you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. This is a one-person studio, so the request goes to the same person who’d act on it.

Children

This site is for business owners and isn’t directed at anyone under thirteen. I don’t knowingly collect information from children, and if I learn that I have, I’ll delete it.

Changes

If this page changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. Anything that materially alters what I collect or why would be stated plainly here, not buried.

Where the law sits

Koine Studios operates from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and this notice is governed by Michigan law. It’s written to satisfy the California Online Privacy Protection Act, which applies to any website that collects personal information from California residents, regardless of where the site’s owner sits.
